kitev (Kultur im Turm e.V.) wurde 2006 von Ateliers Stark und Tank-FX gegründet und ist ein Labor für ausgefallene Interventionen, beheimatet im Wasserturm des Oberhausener Hauptbahnhofs. Der Turm ist Keimzelle und Austragungsort für Aktionen von hoher künstlerischer Qualität sowie Anlaufstelle für projektbedingte Aufenthalte in der Region. Das Experimentierfeld mit industriellem Charakter lässt immer wieder variable Interpretationsmöglichkeiten zu.
kitev unterstützt innovativ, experimentell und interdisziplinär arbeitende Künstlerinnen und Künstler in ihrer Arbeit und ihrer Weiterentwicklung, fördert virulent den Dialog zwischen verschiedenen Kunstsparten und engagiert sich auch im lokalen sozialen Umfeld.

founded in 2oo6 by Atelier Stark (studio Stark) and Tank FX, kitev (culture in the tower) is a laboratory for unusual interventions, resident in the watertower of Oberhausen's central train station. The tower is a nucleus and venue for activities of high artistic quality as well as a contact point for project related residencies in the region. The experimental field with its industrial character allows room for a wide range of interpretation.
kitev supports innovative, experimental and interdisciplinary artists in their work and development, encourages/promotes the dialogue between different artistic practices and engages with the local social environment.
